PG104: Adjustment extension cable at RLO

How to line extension lines so that they do not affect the test result.

When using extension cables, their ohmic resistance can be automatically subtracted from the measurement result.

To do this, follow these steps:

Set ROFFSET from OFF to ON.

"ROFFSET = 0.00 ohm" appears in the footer.

Select a polarity or automatic polarity reversal. Short-circuit the end of the extended test lead with the second test probe tip of the tester. Trigger the measurement of the offset resistance with IDN.

The footer of the display now shows the message ROFFSET x.xx ohm, where x.xx corresponds to a value between 0.00 and 9.99 ohms.

This value is now subtracted from the actual measurement result for all subsequent RLO measurements, provided you have set the ROFFSET ON / OFF softkey to ON.

ROFFSET must be recalculated in the following cases:
-when changing between the types of polarity
-after switching from ON to OFF and back.

Note:
Use this feature only when working with extension cables.
When using different extension cables, the procedure described above must always be repeated.
If, during automatic polarity reversal, the difference between RLO + and RLO- is greater than 10%, no offset value is adopted. In the other case, the respective smaller value is stored as an offset value. The maximum offset is 9.99 ohms. The offset can result in negative resistance values.
